 Welcome...

North Lincolnshire & Humberside Sailing Club 's purpose is to promote dinghy and windsurf sailing for leisure and racing.
Established in 1953 the club supports dinghy sailing and windsurfing on an 80 acre inland water close to the Humber Estuary. The club has excellent facilities and is open all year round with regular programmes of racing for dinghies and windsurfers. It is family orientated and offers training to members and non members of all ages. The members sail a variety of dinghies, the most popular being, Albacore, Laser 1, Laser 4.7, Mirror, Miracle, RS 200 and Topper.
We also have a windsurf race series and an active junior windsurf section.

Lincolnshire Federation Results June 28/29th 2008

Junior championships results:
Overall Champion Will Hackney.

U16
1st Will Hackney NLHSC
2nd Inge-Lisa Hansen NLHSC
3rd Oliver Clegg NLHSC
Very closely contested at the top, with Inge-Lisa less than 10 secs. behind Will in every race.

U13
1st Seb Milner Humber Mouth SC
2nd Harry Davis NLHSC
3rd Floyd Cherry NLHSC

Congratulations to Harry Davis, Floyd Cherry, Jed Davis, Juliet Lennon, Ozzie Lennon, Jack Lennon, Charlie Ward, Ruben Lansley, and Ben Parkin, who after only 8 weeks of race training, started their racing careers in a championship event and performed exceptionally well.
Special mention to all 24 young sailors who took part in the event for the friendliness, enthusiasm, determination and competitive spirit that they brought to the event. All adults present were impressed with this picture of the future of sailing in our area. So much so that there is every possibility that there will be an expansion of competitive junior dingy sailing in the area from next year.

Senior Championships results:
1st Hykeham SC
2nd NLHSC SC
3rd Coveham SC

Another close competion, with the veteran skill and experience of the Hykeham team just pipping the more 'youthful' team from North Lincs.
Double success for Will Hackney who won the overall champion trophy for the 2nd time over the weekend. Key to his success was his ability to survive and finish the 3rd race. The 3rd race was shortened to 2 laps when a surprise squall blew 1/2 of the fleet off the water.

Too much wind at the Humber Yawl invite ! 19/06/08

In difficult conditions George gained a second placed behind arch rival Sam Sills in Techno 7.8 at Farmoor reservoir Oxford. Light winds and ever changing directions might that sailors had to be on the ball at all times to make progress in the fleet.
Robert Griffiths also competed at Farmoor for the first time in the 5.5m class and coming 5th in a fleet of six. he now need to work hard in this larger sail class to achieve the competitiveness he had in the 4.5m class.

May 24th to 26th 2008 George Bowles finished 2nd in the techno fleet at the 3 day cup event held at Christchurch. After 10 races and he finshed just 1 point behind the national champion Sam Sills from Cornwall.
