IntroductionWindsurfing Fleet Captain, John Bushell - Hi, I would like to introduce myself and to inform you Michael Gamon has handed over the role of Windsurfing Fleet Captain on the Committee to myself. Bit about me – I learnt to windsurf in the early eighties but I had a break – kids an’ all that. My son Max was introduced to windsurfing by his friend Emma a couple of years ago inspiring me to get back onto the water. Along with others in the club I was offered the opportunity to take part on the RYA Start Windsurfing teaching course and the Red Coaching Race course sponsored by the club and grants obtained by the club. I really enjoy teaching others to windsurf. Through my son Max, we have begun to attend a number of UKWA events as well as being actively involved in the Team 15 programme so we are getting to know the windsurfing scene reasonably well now. Your voice - I aim to represent your voice on the Committee, we meet on a monthly basis, so email or phone me with your views in order that I can raise issues that are important to you. Your news - If you have any news I will take this to the appropriate person. For example, Tim Labourne is tasked to develop a combined NL&HSC website. Send pictures and anything else so that we can post on the site. What’s new? - I am up to date with our youth scene, but not too hot with the senior programme as yet, so I am interested in your views. I would like to suggest we have a Super Eight Event (to try and get prizes) – this could coincide with a demonstration day Brain Warr in negotiation with Robin Hood Watersports who are possibly willing to attend a demonstration of kit to us. WHAT DO YOU THINK? Tel: 01469 531089 CHEERS - John
